The Dog’s Assistant was formed with the sole purpose of improving the lives of dogs and their owners throughout South Western Ontario and the GTA.
The Dog’s Assistant is owned and operated by Erica Garven. Erica has over 16 years of experience working with dogs, including
- Extensive rescue work
- Veterinary Assistant
- Assistant to the Head of the Dog Department for a major retail pet chain.
Erica has been published in Animal Wellness magazine and the City Parent’s Baby Book, and is also a regular contributor to Boxer Rescue Ontario’s newsletter. Her Family Integration handouts are an important part of the Halton Region Pre-Natal programs, as well as local private pre-natal classes. She completed an apprenticeship program with an internationally renowned aggression specialist, is a Certified Canine Nutrition Specialist, a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, and has begun teaching the new generation of trainers through apprenticeship programs with The Dog’s Assistant. She has improved the lives of hundreds of clients since forming The Dog’s Assistant in 2008, has a reputation for varying her techniques to match unique dog/owner relationships, and is known for never giving up on any dog.
